Webtoon is both a mobile app and a website that hosts a wide variety of webcomics in a vertical scrolling format to fit your phone. Webtoon comics range from romance to action, science fiction, and drama. Many cartoons have become very popular, with their own animated series (Tower of God), Korean dramas (Cheese in the Trap), and Webtoon's top-rated cartoon (Lore Olympus) might even soon get an animated series developed by the Jim Henson company.

Updated January 19, 2021: As new exciting comics are constantly added to Webtoon and trends change month to month, it is no surprise that the ranking of the best Webtoon comics also changes frequently. While some previously mentioned Webtoon comics no longer appear on this list, some contenders have maintained their place in the top 15. Additionally, a multitude of fantastic Webtoon comics have been released in recent months, some of which now hold prominent positions on this list.
Created by Lina Im with the help of Jeonghyeon Kim, Unholy Blood is a supernatural webtoon series that was released in October 2020. The comic follows Hayan Park, a pure-blood vampire with white hair who also takes on the appearance of a normal (and brown-haired) human during the day.
However, when her chance to live a normal life is ruined by other vampires, Hayan must face the hunters who took over the world ten years ago and confront her past at the same time. With the help of young detective Captain Hwang, Hayan seeks to protect those she loves while demanding her revenge.
Weak Hero, written by SEOPASS and illustrated by RAZEN, began in September 2019 and has slowly climbed the Webtoon rankings, making it one of the few action comics on Webtoon to do so.
The comic takes place in a middle school where bullies rule the roost and live to torment the weakest of all the students. However, everything is suddenly turned upside down when a new kid named Gray Yeon arrives. Gray, who suspects nothing, not only stands up to the bullies but can do more than take a punch, thus upsetting the school's hierarchy.
Omniscient Reader is a fantasy webtoon series created by sing N song, featuring art by Sleepy-C and adapted by UMI. The series began in August 2020 and its popularity has only grown since. The protagonist, Dokja, finds himself doomed to save the world as his favorite web novel, "Three Ways to Survive the Apocalypse," suddenly becomes reality.
Since Dokja knows what happened in the web novel, he is the only person who can hope to save the world by using this knowledge to change what happens in the real world so he can save humanity.
Kappa's entire life is governed by being the prophetic "Beacon." He is golden, sparkling, and everyone seems to want something from him—to save them. On the other hand, Siren, the prince of sharks, is told he is destined to kill Kappa to lift the curse on his people.

Like Wind on a Dry Branch is a brand new comedic series that just started, with the first episode released on January 16, 2021. This Webtoon comic by writer Dalsaeowl and artist Hwaeum has already proven popular, with many readers eager for more.

Cursed Princess Club was created by Lambcat and has been running since February 2019. This comedic series follows Gwendolyn, an unattractive princess who doesn't fit the typical "perfect princess" mold.
After hearing her fiancé call her ugly, Gwendolyn runs into the forest where she discovers the Cursed Princess Club, a group of princesses (and a prince) who have all been cursed, which has alienated them from their families. There, Gwendolyn makes new friends and learns that she doesn't need to fit a certain mold to be a true princess.
The Advanced Player Of The Tutorial Tower was created by Bangguseok Gimssi, illustrated by Omagam, and adapted by Juyeong Hwang. It is based on a web novel of the same name and creator that was published on Naver.
This series is brand new to Western audiences, having just been released in January 2021, but it has already gained popularity and reached 9th place on the Webtoon rankings at the time of writing. The comic follows Hyeonu Kim, who was imprisoned in a monster tower for over 12 years. However, he is now free, super strong, and determined to find out who imprisoned him in the first place.
Suitor Armor debuted on Webtoon's Discover in August 2019 but joined the big leagues in September 2020, making it a relatively recent entry on the list. Although it hasn't been around for long, this comic series has already proven to be very popular.

Mage & Demon Queen has managed to fight off the many romances making their way to the top of the Webtoon rankings to offer fans a hilarious comedy. Created by Color_LES, this series has been ongoing since August 2018.
This comedic world resembles that of a role-playing game, where teams of humans band together to reach the top of the Demon Tower to defeat the Demon Queen, with people able to undertake the task more than once thanks to resurrection magic. The story follows a young woman named Malori, who has reached the top of the tower multiple times in her attempt to seduce the demon queen.
The Remarried Empress is a fairly recent addition to the Webtoon list, having only joined in September 2020, although it has been published since October 2019 on the Korean version of the app. This original fantasy with romance elements was created by writer Alphatart and artist Sumpul.
The story opens with the divorce of Emperor Sovieshu and his wife, Empress Navier, in favor of his mistress Rashta. Navier asks for permission to remarry after the divorce. The story then goes back in time and explains how it happened, with Rashta's arrival at the palace, and the fact that Navier discovers she is desired by many men—even if her husband is not one of them. Fans are still eagerly awaiting the divorce episode.
Age Matters is one of the most popular romance series on the Webtoon app. Created by Enjelicious, this series debuted on the platform in April 2018 but only recently started gaining popularity (and ranking in the top 15 on Webtoon).

However, she gets a new job as an assistant to Daniel Yoon, a billionaire who happens to be the creator of Lime. unOrdinary by uru-chan is an ongoing series in the superhero genre on Webtoon and has been one of the most consistently popular toons on the app, always in the top 5 most popular across all genres.

This webtoon is a take on Korean beauty standards. Jugyeong, a true horror fan, is a completely average teenager. She has acne, no double eyelids, and doesn't see beauty in herself. That is, until she gets drunk on makeup and tests it on herself. It's now about allowing people other than her close family to see her without makeup.
Created by Yaongyi, True Beauty was once classified as a drama and fully read as a Korean drama series. But recently, the love triangle has become a bit heavier in the plot and the comic's genre was changed to romance. This series became so popular that a TV series adaptation was made since, delighting fans as it was one of the comics readers most wanted adapted.
Lore Olympus was created by artist Rachel Smythe and joined the Webtoon lineup in 2018. It quickly gained popularity and has remained undefeated since. This Webtoon is a retelling of the classic Greek mythology of Hades and Persephone. It tells their love story from their first meeting and features a wide range of gods and goddesses.
Lore Olympus tackles a ton of modern topics and is wonderfully drawn. Each character is extremely unique, both in appearance and personality. The romance is also so authentic and healthy that fans can't help but love it.
