The Official Lightstick from Ateez was announced on their social accounts on 16 January 2020. It was available for pre-order from 22 January 2020 and was finally put on sale at the beginning of next month, on 3 February 2020. The Lightstick was on sale at the venue of two concerts in Seoul that took place at the Olympic Hall on February 8 and 9, 2020 as part of the group's second world tour, The Fellowship: Map The Treasure. The Lightstick Ateez was originally offered at a price of 33,000 KRW. Initially, it was sold in South Korean stores in just 2 hours and 10 hours in all other stores. The item was manufactured in China by a company called Compact.D which was also responsible for goods from other KPop artists. It is an official KQ Entertainment collection item.

The Lightstick Ateez was created from the drawing of a fan who won the open competition in July 2019. The competition lasted 16 days between July 8 and 22, 2019. The object has a globe-shaped round head with a visible contour of the continents and a compass needle inside that looks like a hourglass. On the half arch you will see a sentence "8 MAKES 1 TEAM" and the beginning date of the Ateez in the form of geographical coordinates 18°10'24" (24 October 2018). On a black handle, you will find a lock hole-shaped button and the group logo. There's a compass at the bottom of the sleeve. The light stick comes in a beautiful black box that looks like a treasure chest. On the box you will find the names of all the members and some information about the product. A dragon and a user manual are added to the package.

The official name of the Lightstick Ateez is LIGHTINY, which is a combination of two words: "light" and "destin".

The object can work in five different modes, including "On", "Blink", "Flicker" and two special modes "Red Aurora" and "Green Aurora". It needs 3 AAA alkaline batteries to work. They are not included in the package. The light stick can be controlled wirelessly via the central control mode on site during concerts. This allows to create amazing luminous effects based on songs currently sung by Ate. The product weighs about 180 g and is made of PC, ABS and rubber. Its dimensions are 100 x 113 x 256 mm.

KQ Entertainment released Lightstick Ateez before the band's second World Tour The Fellowship: Treasure Map. The members performed 18 times in Asia (Seoul and Japan), Europe (Madrid, Paris, London, Amsterdam, Berlin, Warsaw and Moscow) and North America (Newark, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas and Los Angeles). The tour will end at the Los Angeles Forum on April 26, 2020. In addition to the Lightstick, Ateez has prepared a number of other collection items for its fans who plan to attend the events. List of goods of concerts Soul includes items such as the official suede reflection slogan, a set of 10 mini posters (210 x 297 mm), a set of 8 photos representing one member on each (102 x 152 mm), 8 different types of metal keyrings, a metal pin with three different charms, a card holder and a strap in one set, a passport holder, a black shopping bag, a square bandana (540 x 540 mm), a grey ball cap and a cotton black hood sweatshirt.

This isn't the first time Ateez's released a Lightstick. In January 2019, the band returned with Treasure Ep. 2: Zero To One. A special showcase was organized for the release of the album. The event took place at YES24 Live Hall in Seoul on January 16, 2019. The band prepared a selection of 3 articles for fans who attended the showcase. Among the articles including a set of 9 posters and a keychain, one could find a Lightstick Acrylic much simpler than this one, with a round head bearing the group logo on a compass and a small orange compass on the handle.
