The group BTS is taking a break, Separation?

After nine years of a very consistent, unstoppable and successful career, things are changing for BTS . This week, the Seven Idols boy band announced a hiatus . Several hours after the announcement hit the internet, a statement was released, and it seems like "hiatus" isn't the best term to describe what's in store for global superstars.

Suga started the conversation by revealing the group's new plans.

" We're going to take a break now ," he said, "We need to talk about where we're going."

The band's frontman, RM, added that he's not sure what story they're trying to tell in their music now .

"We did 'Dynamite', 'Butter', 'Permission to Dance', 'Life Goes On' and I realized that the band has definitely changed. We have to accept that we have changed." RM said. “For me, it was like the BTS group was within my reach until 'On' and 'Dynamite', but after 'Butter' and 'Permission to Dance', I didn't know what kind of group we were anymore . "

The band's hiatus comes after an intense decade as a major band. In addition to rediscovering their path, members can rest and familiarize themselves with new objectives .

During an interview for Weverse magazine, J-Hope opened up about the struggles the band faced , especially around the time of their Grammys performance .

"It was a lot of pressure, psychologically speaking, because we were now at the Grammys and doing a similar performance to the one we did shortly after our debut," he said. "The other members were on the verge of mental exhaustion at the time, to be honest."

Over the FESTA dinner, the members tearfully discussed their upcoming hiatus , with RM even adding that it will be the last time for a while that the group will reunite like this in front of the cameras. However, the boys from BTS and HYBE , their company, have reassured fans that this period of rest does not mean the separation of the group . Rather, it will be a time for the members to focus on their solo careers and rediscover the message they want to convey to their fans.

"I think we should spend some time apart to learn how to be one," J-Hope said. "I hope you don't see this as a negative thing, and see it as a healthy plan. I think BTS will get stronger this way ."

Jimin also elaborated, "We can't stop thinking about our fans no matter what, we want to be the kind of artists that fans remember. I think now we're starting to think about what kind of artists that we each want to be remembered."

“We are each going to take time to have fun and experience lots of things. We promise that we will come back one day even more mature than we are now ,” Jungkook promised.

After news of the split broke , fans online were saddened. Although solo albums are in the works and the group has reassured fans that they are not breaking up, the confusion of losing BTS as a unit has been hard to digest. The word ' hiatus ' was translated by what Suga was saying in Korean and it was this word that was particularly hard for the fans to swallow (I don't blame them, I still get chills thinking about the 'hiatus' of One Direction). However, HYBE later released a statement via The Associated Press to reassure fans that BTS will always be here.

BTS is not taking a break ,” they said, “ The members will be focusing more on solo projects for now .”

During their FESTA dinner, the group members talked about their solo journeys, detailing that J-Hope is ready to begin solo deployments for the members. It's in reference to his historic upcoming headlining concert at Lollapalooza and, as the company announced, the 28-year-old star will "mark the start with his upcoming solo album."

With all of that in mind, it's good to know that the band won't be splitting up and the members will be taking a well-deserved break . But also, this way we can now start getting seven times the regular content. I don't know about you, but that sounds like a big win to me.

Watch the members discuss their hiatus, upcoming solo careers, and reflect on the past 9 years below.

Bonjour, est ce que le groupe BTS compte venir en France et plus précisément à Marseille ou Aix-en-Provence ?
