Webtoon is both a mobile app and a website that hosts a wide variety of webcomics in a scroll-down format to fit your phone. Webtoon comics range from romance to action to sci-fi to drama. Many cartoons have become hugely popular, with their own anime series (Tower of God), Korean dramas (Cheese in the Trap), and Webtoon's top-ranked cartoon (Lore Olympus) may even get an anime series soon. developed by the Jim Henson company.
Page scrolling makes for more dynamic reading: The surprises in dramas, the leaps of horror, and those big, gorgeous panels that make readers "aww" out loud in romance novels. The artists behind the toons sometimes make them even more appealing by adding music and gifs to give the webtoon a real sense of life.
Updated January 19, 2021: As new and exciting comics are added to webtoon all the time, and trends change from month to month, it's no surprise that the ranking of the best webtoon comics changes so frequently. While some previously mentioned webtoon comics are no longer in this list, some contenders have retained their place in the top 15. Additionally, a slew of fantastic webtoon comics have been released in recent months, some of which are now featured prominently in this list.
Created by Lina Im with help from Jeonghyeon Kim, Unholy Blood is a supernatural webtoon series that was released in October 2020. The comic follows Hayan Park, a white-haired thoroughbred vampire who also takes on the appearance of a normal (and brown) human by day.
However, when his chance for a normal life is ruined by other vampires, Hayan must confront the Hunters who took over the world ten years ago and confront his past in the process. With the help of young detective Captain Hwang, Hayan seeks to protect those she loves while exacting revenge.
Weak Hero, written by SEOPASS and directed by RAZEN, debuted in September 2019 and slowly climbed the webtoon charts, making it one of the few webtoon action comics to achieve this.

However, everything is suddenly turned upside down when a new kid named Gray Yeon arrives. Omniscient Reader is a fantasy webtoon series created by sing N song, featuring art by Sleepy-C and adapted by UMI. The series debuted in August 2020 and its popularity has grown steadily ever since. The protagonist, Dokja, finds himself doomed to save the world as his favorite web novel, "Three Ways to Survive the Apocalypse", suddenly becomes reality.
Since Dokja knows what happened in the web novel, he is the only person who can hope to save the world by using this knowledge to change what is happening in the real world so he can save humanity. .
Kappa's entire life is governed by being the prophetic "Lighthouse". He's golden, glittering, and everyone seems to want something from him - to save them. On the other hand, Siren, the Prince of Sharks, is told that he is destined to kill Kappa in order to lift the curse from his people.

Like Wind on a Dry Branch is a brand new comedy series that has just begun, with the first episode dropping on January 16, 2021. This webtoon comic by writer Dalsaeowl and artist Hwaeum has already proven popular, from many readers eager to receive more.

The Cursed Princess Club was created by Lambcat and has been running since February 2019. This comedy series follows Gwendolyn, an unattractive princess who doesn't fit into the typical "perfect princess" mold.
After overhearing her fiancé calling her ugly, Gwendolyn flees to the forest where she discovers the Cursed Princess Club, a group of princesses (and one prince) who have all been cursed, which put them on the spot. away from their family. Advanced Learning Tower Player was created by Bangguseok Gimssi, with artwork by Omagam and adapted by Juyeong Hwang. It is based on a web novel of the same name and creator that was published on Naver.
This series is brand new to Western audiences, having just been released in January 2021, but it has already grown in popularity and has risen to #9 on the webtoon charts as of this writing. The comic follows Hyeonu Kim, who has been imprisoned in a monster tower for over 12 years. However, he is now free, super strong, and determined to find out who imprisoned him in the first place.
Suitor Armor debuted on Webtoon's Discover in August 2019, but joined the big leagues in September 2020, making it a relatively new entry to the list. Although it hasn't been around that long, this comic series has already proven to be very popular.
Created by Purpah, the comic follows Lucia, a lady-in-waiting waiting for the future queen. Lucia must hide the fact that she is a fairy as her people are persecuted in this fantasy world, but other than that she knows nothing of her ancestors. Mage & Demon Queen has successfully fought off the many romances that are making their way to the top of the webtoon charts to provide fans with a hilarious comedy. Created by Color_LES, this series has been ongoing since August 2018.
This comical world resembles that of a role-playing game, where teams of humans band together to reach the top of the Demon Tower to defeat the Demon Queen, with people able to undertake the task more than once through to the magic of resurrection. The story follows a young woman named Malori, who has reached the top of the tower several times in her attempt to seduce the demon queen.
The Remarried Empress is a fairly recent addition to the webtoon roster, having only joined in September 2020, although she has been posted since October 2019 on the Korean version of the app. This original fantasy with elements of romance was created by writer Alphatart and artist Sumpul.
The story opens with the divorce of Emperor Sovieshu and his wife, Empress Navier, in favor of his mistress Rashta. Navier asks permission to remarry after the divorce. The story then goes back in time and explains how it happened, with Rashta arriving at the palace, and Navier discovering that she is desired by many men - even though her husband is not one of them. Fans are still eagerly awaiting the divorce episode.
Age Matters is one of the most popular romance series on the webtoon app. Created by Enjelicious, this series debuted on the platform in April 2018 but only recently started gaining popularity (and ranking in the webtoon top 15).
The comic follows Rose Choi, a woman in her late thirties who gave up on love after her fiancé left her over an app called Lime. She does, however, get a new job as an assistant to Daniel Yoon, a billionaire who happens to be the creator of Lime. As the two begin to spend a lot of time together, against their will, they begin to fall in love with each other.
unOridnary by uru-chan is an ongoing series under the webtoon superhero genre and has been one of the most consistently popular toons on the app, consistently in the top 5 most popular across all genres.
In John's elite school, everyone has superpowers, it's the norm in the non-ordinary world. Everyone except John. They call those who lack power "cripples" and are expected to keep a low profile. Down to Earth was created by Pookie Senpai and launched on Webtoon in August 2020, after airing on Canvas and Discover. The story follows Kade, a young man living a normal life until an alien girl crashes into his backyard.
This adorable alien girl is called Zaida and has special powers such as levitation and telepathy. Although they have established rules for not committing to each other, the two begin to develop feelings for each other.
This webtoon is a take on Korean beauty standards. Jugyeong, a true horror fan, is quite an average teenager. She has acne, doesn't have double eyelids, and doesn't see the beauty in herself. Created by Yaongyi, True Beauty was once called a drama and fully read as a Korean drama series.
