Kim Seung Min is a member of the K-pop group Stray Kids under the agency JYP Entertainment. He joined the label after placing second in the auditions in 2017, and like the other members, he participated in the "Stray Kids" show before debuting.

However, his current career is very different from the career he dreamed of when he was young because what he wanted above all was to be a baseball player. When he was in elementary school, he even threw the first pitch for a match of professional teams (SK Wyverns).

So the question arises: how did he end up auditioning to become a singer? Well, it was thanks to a friend who happens to be Dae Hwi from Wanna One. One day, while participating in a radio show with other group members, he revealed that when he was in high school, he was friends with Lee Daehwi of Wanna One.

"Before Dae Hwi changed schools, we were in high school together. Our classes were next to each other, and we had a lot of fun. We would eat together and hang out together."

When they were friends, Dae Hwi was a trainee at the JYP agency, and he suggested Seungmin join him, which is how he ended up auditioning. Unfortunately, once Seungmin joined the label, Dae Hwi had changed agencies. However, this is not the only reason he auditioned to become a singer because besides wanting to join his friend, he also wanted to be on stage and sing.

Seungmin also knew Chan before joining the agency because they were in the same school.

He has two nicknames: "Snail" which is the nickname given by the other group members, and "Sunshine" which fans gave him because, according to them, he spreads joy and shines like the sun.
