Everything to know about Stray Kids

The Stray Kids are a South Korean boy band under JYP Entertainment who made their official debut in March 2018. The group is made up of nine trainees from the agency and participated in the show of the same name in collaboration with the MNet channel. The show aired from October 17 to December 19, 2017, and aimed to see if our little trainees had what it takes to debut. But first, let's talk about the members.

The members of Stray Kids

The group Stray Kids was formed through a Korean show and currently consists of 9 Members: 

- Bang Chan, whose real name is Christopher Bang, was born on October 3, 1997, in Sydney, Australia, where he also grew up. He is the leader of the group. He is involved in singing, rap, composition, production, and is even a lyricist. In short, he is an absolutely complete artist.

A few little anecdotes about him: he appeared in Twice's MV Like Ooh Ahh as well as in Only You by Miss A. He trained with the members of GOT7, Twice, and DAY6. He was a trainee for seven years at JYP. The members nickname him Kangaroo due to his Australian origins, and he can speak English, Korean, and Japanese.

- Kim Woo Jin (former member of Stray Kids) was born on April 8, 1997, in South Korea, was the main singer of the group. 

- Lee Know, whose real name is Lee Min-ho, like the Korean actor, and actually, because he has a fairly common name, he chose this nickname. He was born on October 25, 1998, in South Korea. He is the main dancer, but also involved in singing and rap. You should know he was eliminated during the show but finally got a second chance from the agency in the last episode, phew!

- Chang Bin, whose real name is Seo Chang Bin, was born on August 11, 1999, in South Korea. He is the main rapper, but he is also a lyricist and involved in composition. His role model in music is G-Dragon.

- Hyun Jin, whose real name is Hwang Hyunjin, was born on March 20, 2000, in South Korea. He is the main dancer, the visual of the group. By the way, he is the tallest at 1.79m and he is also into rap. He has a little dog named Kami. 

- Han, whose real name is Han Ji Sung, was born on September 14, 2000, in South Korea. He is the secondary rapper of the group, but he is also involved in singing, lyrics, and composition. You should know he studied in Malaysia and his role model is Zico from Block B.

- Felix, whose real name is Felix Lee or by his Korean name Lee Yong-bok. But you should know he hates being called by his Korean name. He was born on September 15, 2000, in Sydney. He actually grew up there, even though both his parents are Korean. You should know he arrived quite recently in South Korea, apparently in February 2017, and so he has a little trouble with the language. Fortunately, he has Changbin who really helps him adapt to the Korean culture. He is the secondary dancer. He is also rap, just like Lee Know. He was eliminated from the show but was brought back in the last episode. Phew!

Like our leader, since he comes from Australia. The other members nickname him Koala and you could say he's the group's cry baby because this little cutie cries a lot. And when he was eliminated in episode 9. But it's way too horrible. 

- Seung Min, whose real name is Kim Seung Min, was born on September 22, 2000, in South Korea. He is the secondary vocalist of the group. His role models are DAY6, Kim Dong Ryul, Bronchioles, and San Deul. What is quite funny is that his room is always clean and tidy. He never wants the members to sit on his bed because he might mess it up. But he is a little bit obsessive, this little one.

- And finally, I.N, whose real name is Yang Jeong In, was born in South Korea on February 8, 2001. He is the Maknae of the group and he is a vocalist. It should be known that his role model is Bruno Mars and he is the member who takes the longest to learn the choreographies because he is very perfectionist.

Stray Kids Survival Show

The Survival Show therefore started on October 17, 2017, and was composed of 5 missions:

- The first mission given to the group was to compose and perform a song as nine. And it was in this first mission that Hellevator, their pre-debut single, was born.

- The second mission was to create a song in groups of three, knowing that in each group, one member could be in danger. It was on this occasion that Lee Know was unfortunately eliminated.

- The third mission was a confrontation with the trainees of JYP Entertainment and this time, no member was eliminated.

- And the fourth mission was a mini concert. And it should be known that this mission left the biggest impression on the members because it was the first time they really interacted with the public on the street. Because in fact, they had to perform songs directly in the streets of Seoul.

- And finally, the fifth mission that closed the show on December 19, 2017, consisted of a live performance of five songs. Knowing that JYP decided to reintegrate the two previously eliminated members and that they participated to sing three of the five songs, at the end of the episode, JYP announced that the two eliminated members, Lee Know and Felix, would be able to rejoin the group and that they would start as nine. Thank you!

The group officially debuted on March 26, 2018, with the release of their mini album I am Not. Since then, Stray Kids have been very active. They release 2 to 3 MVs per month. I don't know how they do it. I really wonder if they sleep at night.
